Fernando Mendoza addresses NY Jets talk at Heisman Trophy festivities
Fernando Mendoza recalls his first visit to NYC and answers a question about the New York Jets as he focuses on winning a national title.
The New York Jets suffered a 42-10 blowout loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
It was essentially over from the beginning for the Jets, who surrendered five touchdowns on five drives to New England in the first half and entered halftime down 35-3, an insurmountable lead for this current Jets team as the Patriots led wire-to-wire.
The lopsided loss moved the Jets to 3-13 this season, one of three teams (with the Titans and Cardinals) having that lowly record heading into the regular-season finale in Week 18.
The Jets’ 13th loss marks the most in a season for the organization since 2021, when the NFL regular season expanded to 17 games.
Gang Green lost 14 games the year before, 2020, finishing that season 2-14.
With only one game left in the 2025 season, where do the Jets stand in the 2026 NFL Draft order?
Here’s where they are slated to pick with their two first-round selections after the 32-point loss to the Patriots in Week 17:
Where do Jets pick in first round of 2026 NFL Draft?
Heading into this weekend, the Jets owned the No. 4 overall pick after a 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints. New York was also slotted at the No. 18 pick with its other first-round selection, which was via the Indianapolis Colts from the Sauce Gardner trade earlier this season.
After the Week 17 lopsided loss, the Jets have moved up one spot to No. 3 overall (according to Tankathon.com) after the Browns’ 13-6 upset victory over the Steelers.
The pick from the Colts remains unchanged at No. 18 overall heading into the late window on Sunday afternoon.
