Despite losing laughably to the New England Patriots on Sunday, New York Jets running back Breece Hall reached a vital career milestone, as he crossed 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in a single season since being drafted into the NFL.
Although Breece addressed his achievement, he also couldn’t help but admire the Chicago Bears’ offense from afar. During the Sunday night game against the San Francisco 49ers, Breece publicly acknowledged Chicago’s “elite operation” on X (formerly Twitter).

Hall also touched on the game as a whole, which was an offensive bonanza.

Ultimately, San Francisco hung on for the victory, 42-38, but the admiration—and perhaps envy—an offensive player can feel while watching is totally understandable.
Speaking to reporters following the game, Hall touched on eclipsing 1K yards on the ground for the first time in his NFL career.
“It’s cool, (but it) sucks that it had to happen in a loss,” said Hall. “(It) felt like I should have even gotten to that mark a few weeks ago, but there’s just been a lot going on.”

In what has been a highly disappointing season for the Jets, Hall has been one of the few bright spots.
Hall became the first running back to pass the 1K rushing yard mark in a single season for the Jets since Chris Ivory in 2015, while finishing Sunday’s game with 111 rushing yards and a touchdown, including a 59-yard score on 14 carries (7.9 yards per carry)
In his sophomore season, the Iowa State product was knocking on the door of the clip; however, he fell just six yards short, finishing the year with 994 yards on the ground. He struggled to come close to that last year, finishing the 2024 season with just 876 rushing yards.
Currently playing on the final year of his rookie contract, the former second-round pick is slated to hit the open market this offseason.
Whether he returns to New York for next season looms as a significant question with just one game left for the Jets before a long offseason filled with critical decisions commences.
