One player from the Pittsburgh Steelers had his suspension lifted by the National Football League — and it unfortunately wasn’t wide receiver DK Metcalf.
The NFL lifted the suspension of Steelers defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale on Monday, but he’ll remain on injured reserve with a torn ACL he suffered back in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers.
On November 25, Ekuale was suspended five games without pay for violating the league’s Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy, a move that caught some off guard considering his injury status.
Signing with Pittsburgh as a free agent in March, Ekuale was one of the Steelers’ many offseason decisions designed to shore up their run defense, recording six combined tackles and a quarterback hit in seven games.
