Heading into Week 18, here is an updated look at the Jaguars chances of winning the division and earning the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed.

Heading into the regular season finale, the Jacksonville Jaguars have the opportunity to clinch the AFC South crown, and they remain in the mix for the AFC’s No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

So what are the current chances of the Jaguars reaching each of those goals?

At 12-4, the Jaguars hold a one-game lead over the 11-5 Houston Texans. Jacksonville can claim the division title by either defeating the Tennessee Titans this week or with a Texans’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Using The Athletic’s playoff simulator, the Jaguars have an 89% chance of winning the division.

When it comes to the conference’s top spot, the Jaguars are currently the three seed, one game back of the 13-3 Broncos and the 13-3 Patriots.

In order to leapfrog the Patriots and Broncos, the Jaguars have to win in Week 18, while New England has to lose to Miami, and Denver has to lose to the LA Chargers.

However, Denver won’t be facing Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. LA is electing to sit Herbert for this game.

The Jaguars’ chances of being the No. 1 seed, according to The Athletic, sit at just 3%.
