After spending the first 17 weeks of the 2025 season on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad without making his NFL debut, former Auburn tight end Rivaldo Fairweather is eligible to play on the final Sunday of the campaign – but not for the Cowboys.

The Arizona Cardinals signed Fairweather from Dallas’ practice squad for their 53-man active roster on Tuesday, the NFL team announced.

The Cardinals conclude their season by playing the Los Angeles Rams at 3:25 p.m. CST Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

As a transfer from FIU, Fairweather had 69 receptions for 766 yards and eight touchdowns in two seasons at Auburn before entering the NFL in May, when he signed with Dallas as an undrafted rookie.

Fairweather caught five passes for 59 yards and one touchdown in the Cowboys’ three preseason games before Dallas waived the tight end on Aug. 26 as the team reduced its preseason roster to the regular-season limit.

When Fairweather cleared waivers, the Cowboys signed him for their practice squad the next day.
