Patrick Mahomes watched on as Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs dropped a fifth-straight game, falling to 6-10 on the 2025 NFL season after a 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos. Mahomes has been unable to play for Kansas City over the last two games after tearing his ACL in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers, ending his season.

While Mahomes continues to recover from his serious injury and hopes to return at the start of the 2026 season, the former Texas Tech quarterback has remained active away from football. He owns stakes in several franchises, including the Kansas City Royals, the KC Current and Sporting KC. Mahomes also teamed up with Kelce and opened a restaurant in Kansas City.

In mid-September, the two Chiefs stars opened their own steakhouse, 1587 Prime, located inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The name is inspired by Mahomes’ No. 15 and Kelce’s No. 87 jersey numbers. According to the restaurant, the menu “begins with a foundation of the finest beef the region has to offer, meticulously sourced from local partners who share our dedication to quality.”

And on Tuesday, Mahomes and Kelce received a big honor, as 1587 Prime was named one of “the 21 most beautiful new restaurants in America of 2025” by Robb Report, a luxury lifestyle magazine covering wealth and taste.

“Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes stepped off the field for their latest venture, teaming up to open a new steakhouse in the Chiefs’ home city,” wrote Robb Report’s Nicole Hoey. “And, as you’d expect, there are subtle nods to football throughout the nearly 10,000-square-foot 1587 Prime.

“You enter the space through a dark corridor, akin to running through the tunnel before a big game. The lighting, too, is similar to the Xs and Os in a playbook, while brass inlay markers delineate yards on the floor. But it’s not too heavy-handed, leading to a striking space as electric as the players behind it.”

Mahomes will continue to watch from the sideline as his Chiefs, already eliminated from playoff contention, finish the season with a Week 18 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
