The Tennessee Titans‘ recent improvement has affected their draft position. If the season ended today, they would hold the fourth pick in the 2026 NFL draft and, at this point, look locked into the Top 5.Â
With injuries taking a toll, the Titans’ lack of depth is becoming clearer by the outing, and general manager Mike Borgonzi will have his hands full trying to restock the roster and infuse talent into multiple positions. Tennessee has glaring needs at cornerback, edge, and wide receiver, but could use quality competition across the roster.Â
Tennessee’s 2025 draft class appears to be a hit and a solid starting point, but it needs more of that, along with a solid haul in free agency, to turn the corner. While trading back from the fourth spot would increase their draft capital, they could stay put and add a talented playmaker. In his latest mock draft for CBS Sports, Ryan Wilson has the Titans staying put and grabbing an interesting prospect.Â
4. Tennessee Titans: Peter Woods, DL, Clemson
Woods is a powerful, explosive interior defensive lineman who consistently wins at the point of attack with violent hands, low pad level, and exceptional strength. He’s immovable against the run — stacking, shedding, and disrupting plays in the backfield while maintaining gap integrity — and can overwhelm interior blockers. Though not reliant on a deep move set, Woods’ athleticism, effort, and persistence allow him to collapse pockets and create chaos from multiple alignments.
With Tennessee also in the midst of a head coaching search, projecting which prospects will fit into their system at this point is difficult, but Woods is a player with the traits and upside to excel in multiple schemes. But it still feels like a stretch for Tennessee to go defensive line, given the Titans already have a solid unit in place and significant needs at other positions.Â
Woods would come in and give the Titans one of the best defensive lines in football, joining Pro Bowler Jeffery Simmons, who is coming off a career season, and defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, who has overcome early-season injuries and is making an impact.Â
With Wilson having Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate and Miami edge Rueben Bain Jr. and Auburn edge Keldric Faulk coming off the board inside the Top 10, Tennessee could still be in position to drop back a few spots and land a player at a need position and build some draft capital.Â
