5 questions with LeRoy Butler: Which Packers should play vs the Vikings
LeRoy Butler talks about whether the Packers need to play to win against Minnesota in a game that won’t mean anything for their playoff standing.
Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons are teammates again.
And Parsons is all for it.
“We’re back ….” Parsons wrote on X, along with a salute emoji.
Four months after the Green Bay Packers acquired the All-Pro edge rusher Parsons in a monumental trade with the Dallas Cowboys, they have added another All-Pro defensive player from Dallas.
The Packers signed Diggs a day after he was released by the Cowboys to help a struggling and undermanned defense that just learned cornerback Nate Hobbs is out for the year.
Diggs is a former second-round pick by the Cowboys in 2020 who led the NFL in interceptions in 2021. Parsons was a first-round pick by the Cowboys in 2021 and quickly became one of the best defensive players in the NFL. They also became good friends. When the Packers and Cowboys played during the regular season in September the two exchanged jerseys.
Now, they’re both members of the Packers.
Diggs, unfortunately, won’t get to suit up with his former teammate. Parsons is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Even so, Parsons, who just had surgery this week, is thrilled to see Diggs in Green Bay.

It doesn’t matter what you think about his prior play.
It literally had to be done and at one point, he was as sticky in coverage as anybody in the game.
Nothing to lose for GB and it can’t get any worse than the corner play we’ve been forced to watch over the last month+ https://t.co/WlJRVYIXFD

I have no idea if Diggs will be any good but this is way better New Year’s Eve vibes than when Bakh tore his acl I do know that much.

In no way am I predicting the same outcome, but when the #Packers signed Rasul Douglas he was a practice squad castoff…
Crazier things have happened than a player who’s shown potential before getting back to that level on a new team.

By claiming him on waivers, the Packers pick up ex-Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs’ existing contract—he has one game check at $500,000 left. So that’s essentially what Green Bay is paying him for the playoffs.
There’s a de facto team option at $15.5 million there in 2026.
