The New York Giants‘ 2025 season is one game away from coming to a close with their final matchup with the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
While their three-win season was disappointing, there have been many moments that fans should look upon optimistically. New York’s young core of Malik Nabers, Jaxson Dart, Abdul Carter, Cam Skattebo, and many more players could evolve into one of the best in the NFL.
Despite every reason to be dejected by recent distractions, Dart is incredibly inspired by what the future holds. When speaking with the media today, he was asked whether he felt the franchise was far from turning things around. He responded confidently.
“No. We’ve got the pieces,” Dart told reporters.

The Giants were handed the most challenging schedule heading into 2025, and, as expected, they struggled. While it’s easy to look at the results in the box scores and think the team is an unfixable mess, there are a lot of reasons to believe the Giants can get hot in 2026. Dart pointed to the fight they showed during their difficult schedule.
“We’ve been in really tight games where this season could completely flip” Dart stated. “We’ve got a lot of talent, we’ve got some good vets, and we have a ton of young guys who are going to continue to thrive. And we just have, I’ve said this a lot, we just have a ton of excitement for the future because we know what things can do and how we can flip this around.”
One reason to be excited about what 2026 could look like is the fact that the Giants went through most of the year without star wide receiver Malik Nabers. The second-year wide receiver was off to a hot start with 271 yards and two touchdowns through four games before he suffered a season-ending injury against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Giants fans were deprived of getting to witness the chemistry develop between Dart and Nabers throughout the course of the season. Dart acknowledged his excitement for getting to play with him next season.
“We’ll continue to be together and light it up,” Dart told the media. “I’m excited, those are conversations that we have a lot. We’re two of some of the younger guys in the entire league at 22. We’ve got a long future together, there’s going to be a lot of great moments. I know he’s been attacking this recovery process, and he’s going to come back stronger, better.”
If the Giants nail their coaching hire, there’s a real shot they could become a playoff team in 2026. The New England Patriots and Chicago Bears are two of the hottest teams in the NFL, and sat in an identical situation last year. They had a rookie quarterback who showed promise but needed support. And arguably, the Giants have a more talented defensive core and better offensive line than both of those teams did at the end of 2024.
Hopefully, the right coach wants to transform New York into a winner, because the pieces are absolutely there.
