The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers both have significant injury questions ahead of Saturday night’s Week 18 winner-take-all showdown, which will determine both the NFC West title and the NFC’s No. 1 seed.
Jeremiah: What’s changed since Seahawks’ Week 1 loss to 49ers
Here’s a look at each team’s injury report for Wednesday. Both teams will have to make their game status designations by Thursday.
Seahawks injury report
Left tackle Charles Cross (hamstring) and veteran swing tackle Josh Jones (ankle, knee) were both listed as non-participants on Wednesday’s practice report for the second straight day, which further indicates there’s a real possibility the Seahawks could be down to their third-string left tackle on Saturday night.
Cross, who has missed the past two games, has yet to practice since getting injured in the final minute of Seattle’s Week 15 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 14. Jones, who has started at left tackle in place of Cross for the past two games, was a new addition to the injury report this week.
If neither Cross or Jones are available, Seattle’s other options at left tackle include undrafted rookie Amari Kight and rookie guard/tackle Mason Richman. They have a combined three offensive snaps this season.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald didn’t divulge much about the team’s left tackle situation when speaking to reporters prior to Wednesday afternoon’s practice.
“If Josh can play, he’s gonna play,” Macdonald said. “If Charles gets better and can play, he’ll play. If not, then we’ve got some other guys that can play.”

Meanwhile, wide receiver/kick returner Rashid Shaheed (concussion) was upgraded to a full participant on Wednesday after being listed as limited on Tuesday. However, safety Coby Bryant (knee) was downgraded to a non-participant on Wednesday after being limited on Tuesday. He’s working his way back after missing Sunday’s game.
