The New York Giants took the field on Wednesday for their first of three practices ahead of a Week 18 game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
Beforehand, interim head coach Mike Kafka updated the status of several injured players, including safety Jevon Holland, who is in concussion protocol while also battling a knee injury.
“We’re going to progress and see how it goes through the week. He’s getting treatment and stuff, so we’ll kind of just take it day by day,” Kafka said. “I think it’s just too early to tell, but he’s getting treatment and stuff, and he’s still in the concussion protocol as well, so we’re kind of working through that as well as working through the knee.”
Meanwhile, an illness has overtaken the team, with three players, including rookie linebacker Abdul Carter, being excused from practice and/or sent home.
“We sent Abdul home, just an illness. Same thing with Theo (Johnson) and Jalin Hyatt,” Kafka said.
