The Pittsburgh Steelers’ opponents for the 2026 season are nearly finalized. The outcome of the Steelers’ win-or-go-home game against the Baltimore Ravens will determine the final three opponents.

If the Steelers beat Baltimore and win the division, they’ll play at Philadelphia and at New England next season. The Eagles and Patriots have both won their respective divisions in 2025, which is why the Steelers would face them next season if they win the AFC North. The Steelers would also host the AFC West champion Denver Broncos.

If the Steelers lose to the Ravens, they’ll finish second in the AFC North, which means they’ll play at Dallas, at Buffalo and host the Los Angeles Chargers in 2026. All of those three teams will finish second in their respective divisions.

Along with the three AFC North opponents — Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals — the Steelers’ 2026 home schedule features games against the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Broncos/Chargers.

On the road, the Steelers will play the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Eagles/Cowboys and Patriots/Bills.

The Steelers play the AFC South and NFC South in 2026. The Eagles/Cowboys of the NFC East will be the extra NFC opponent.

The Steelers have not won the AFC North since 2020. Depending on Sunday night’s outcome against the Ravens, the Steelers could look like a very different team in 2026, especially if Mike Tomlin’s 19-year tenure as the team’s head coach comes to a close.

The Steelers will have to make a decision this March about the future of Tomlin.

According to a report by Adam Schefter, Tomlin’s contract extension with the team, a three-year deal he signed in 2024, is actually a two-year deal with an option for the 2027 season.

Furthermore, the Steelers will have to make a decision about whether to pick up that option next March. Tomlin could also decide to move on if he wants a change of scenery. The Steelers are currently on a eight-year playoff win drought. The longest playoff win drought since pre-1972.
