The big story line for the Eagles entering NFL Week 18 after a “weak win” in Buffalo last week is Philadelphia’s decision to rest several key starters this Sunday. The Eagles will always prioritize health ahead of the postseason.
Eagles starting Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who struggled in the second half of last week’s game, will sit and watch backup Tanner Mckee get the start under center. Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert, DeVonta Smith and other key starters will sit out against the Commanders. There is still a chance that the Birds could land the number two seed in the NFC playoffs with a win and a Bears loss this last weekend of the regular season.
The Sixers had all three of their stars in the lineup against the Dallas Mavericks Thursday night. The 76ers had a 11 point lead at halftime and with four of their five starters in double figures, maybe this could be a bright sign for things to come with the big three. I’ve talked about continuity before and if the Sixers can stay healthy, the big three can learn each other’s game and feed off it.
The Flyers, currently on their customary holiday west coast road trip, are 2-2 so far and face the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday at 330pm. The Flyers are currently four points out of first place in the Metropolitan Division. First year Flyers Head coach Rick Tocchett has this team playing winning hockey. I like the direction that this team is heading!
