The Dolphins are getting help in their general manager search from a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback.
Sources say Troy Aikman, the longtime Dallas Cowboys star and current ESPN broadcaster, is consulting on the Dolphins’ GM hire as chairman Stephen Ross seeks additional perspectives on the team’s direction.
Aikman, who has mused in the past about becoming a GM himself, is not considered a candidate for the position. But given Aikman’s connections around the league, including through his weekly Monday Night Football assignments, he has relationships around the league that he can lean on to gather information and shape the search.
