SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Notre Dame is hiring Indianapolis Colts defensive line coach Charlie Partridge for the same position with the Fighting Irish, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
Partridge will fill the defensive line coach vacancy left by Al Washington, who was promoted by Notre Dame to linebackers coach earlier Friday.
Partridge has served as the defensive line coach for the Colts since 2024. He has extensive assistant coaching experience at the college level, serving as Pittsburgh’s co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach from 2018-2023.
Prior to joining Pitt’s staff, he served as head coach at Florida Atlantic from 2014-2016.
According to Rittenberg, Partridge previously worked alongside current Notre Dame defensive coordinator Chris Ash at several schools, including Wisconsin, Arkansas and Drake.
