All season long, the Cleveland Browns have been mentioned as a team who could make a head coaching change following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL season.
Once again, the Browns are headed towards a high pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Kevin Stefanski was unable to lead the team to success this season. Each week, there seemed to be something that didn’t look quite right.
Entering the final week of the regular season, it has become expected that Cleveland will move on from Stefanski. Should the Browns choose to go that route, the search for a new head coach would become front and center for the franchise.

There are plenty of names Cleveland could consider to replace Stefanski. Some are current NFL coaches, while there are also other options the team could explore.

One shocking name has been brought up as a possible option for the Browns.
Jeremy Brener of Cleveland Browns on SI has named Deion Sanders as a possible option. It would be a surprising choice, but the presence of rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders makes his name a popular choice in the rumor mill.
While Brener does admit that Sanders becoming the new head coach in Cleveland would be a surprise, his name has to be mentioned. Is it possible that the Browns would consider the option? Sanders has been around the franchise quite a bit this season watching his son play.
Sanders is coming off of a tough season with the Colorado Buffaloes. He led the team to a 3-9 record in 2025. A change of scenery could be of interest to him if it involved being able to coach his son again.

As a college head coach in six total seasons split between Colorado and Jackson State, Sanders has compiled a 43-27 overall record. He is one of the most popular college head coaches in the nation, although there are many who question his effectiveness in his role.
More than likely, Cleveland would go in a much different direction. However, it’s intriguing to think about “Coach Prime” leading the Browns into the future with his son as the team’s franchise quarterback.
