The New York Giants took the field for their final practice of Week 18 on Friday, but beforehand, interim head coach Mike Kafka offered some optimism regarding rookie linebacker Abdul Carter, who was back on the field.
“Really, the only change for practice today will be Abdul; he’ll get some work today. Everyone else will not be participating today,” Kafka said.
The same could not be said for the other Giants battling illness. Tight end Theo Johnson and wide receiver Jalin Hyatt all remained sidelined, their status for Sunday’s game uncertain.
Kafka also revealed that no other changes were made to the injury report, painting an ugly picture for their roster headed into the final game of the season.
“See how today goes, some of the rehab stuff, and then obviously we’ll get some work and work them on the field if there’s an ability to do that,” he said.
