The Baltimore Ravens have ruled out an offensive starter for Sunday’s Week 18 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Per the team, WR Rashod Bateman has been downgraded to from “questionable” to “out” and will not play tomorrow night due to an illness. He also won’t travel with the team.
Elsewhere, DL Taven Bryan will remain on injured reserve and has also been downgraded from “questionable” to “out.”

Baltimore did not update the status of CB Marlon Humphrey, who remains questionable with an illness. He failed to practice Friday as part of a presumed flu bug that broke out in the Ravens locker room. However, the team hinted doubt over Humphrey’s status by elevating CB Amani Oruwariye from the practice squad. Wide receiver Keith Kirkwood was also elevated to offset Bateman’s absence.

While Bateman has started 12 games this season, his impact has been minimal. He’s caught just 19 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns, showing a steep decline in production from his 45/756/9 line in 2024. Since mid-November, he’s caught just three passes. In Week 14’s loss to the Steelers, Bateman logged 69 snaps and finished with two catches for 23 yards.
Receiver Zay Flowers along with tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely will remain the Ravens top passing game targets. Flowers is the only player over 500 receiving yards this season.
A potential Humphrey absence would be a serious loss for Baltimore’s secondary. A unit that’s struggled to stop the passing game all season. He’s intercepted a pass in three-straight games, the NFL’s longest streak, and is the league’s only player with 10 interceptions and four forced fumbles over the past two years. Veteran CB Chidobe Awuzie would likely step into the starting lineup if Humphrey can’t go, though his status likely won’t be determined until pregame warmups tomorrow night.
Kirkwood has yet to appear in a game this season. In fact, his last regular season appearance came in 2023 with the New Orleans Saints. Oruwariye appeared in Week 12 this year, playing exclusively on special teams and making one tackle. He’s appeared in 62 career NFL games with 40 starts, most coming as a member of the Detroit Lions from 2019-2022.
Pittsburgh made one roster move this afternoon, elevating CB D’Shawn Jamison from the practice squad.
