(KBTX) – The Texas A&M football team received a commitment from Tulsa transfer linebacker Ray Coney Sunday, his agent Ali Barnes confirmed with KBTX.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker spent his junior season with the Golden Hurricane, where he tallied an American Conference-leading 129 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, defended two passes and forced a fumble.
Prior to Tulsa, he played his first two seasons at East Tennessee State, where he picked up 97 tackles and 12 tackles for loss and five sacks in 21 total games.
He is a 247Sports.com 3-star prospect out of the portal and the 28th overall transfer linebacker.
Linebacker is a position of need for the Aggies with senior Scooby Williams our of eligibility and junior Taurean York weighing his options in declaring early for the 2026 NFL Draft. The Aggies return junior Daymion Sanford, who saw significant playing time due to the injury of Williams this season.
