Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix helped lead his team to the No. 1 seed on Sunday.

It’s quite the accomplishment for a quarterback in his second professional season.

Nix and the Broncos did enough, topping the Chargers 19-3 to win for a 14th time and lock up a bye next weekend. The rest of the AFC will battle it out, while Bo Nix and his Denver teammates will be watching at home to see how the bracket shakes out.

“It’s good. I think it’s the best possible position to be in. Two home games is where we want to be. It’s better than having to play on the road and it’s better than having to play an extra game,” Nix said.

If the Broncos can win those two home games at Empower Field at Mile High, they’ll head to the Super Bowl for a ninth time in franchise history. The road to Santa Clara goes through Denver.

“I think for us it’s the best case scenario. I think for us it’ll be good to play here because of our stadium and the atmosphere. I think that’ll apply a little bit more pressure,” Nix said.

A slew of opponents could be here on Jan. 17 or 18, including the Texans, Bills, Chargers, Ravens or Steelers. For Bo Nix, he knows anyone that Denver faces will present a challenge.

“But at the end of the day it’s an open tournament. It’s going to be a really good opportunity to play really good teams. And each one that comes in here it’s going to be a tough, physical and competitive game,” Nix said.

They will all be tough from here on out, but if the Broncos win three more games, they’re world champions. For Bo Nix, that’d be an impressive thing to add to the resume with his career still so young.
