NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans will be heading into the offseason with some good news on its starting quarterback and No. 1 overall pick in the last NFL Draft.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter and others report that Cam Ward has avoided significant injury and will not require surgery after being knocked out of the season finale with a reported shoulder injury.
“Tests today on No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward’s shoulder showed that he has a sprained AC joint, but doctors do not believe he needs surgery as he heads into the start of the off-season,” Schefter said.

Ward took a shot from a Jaguars defender as he crossed into the endzone to score Tennessee’s only touchdown on Sunday.
“Cam Ward suffered a right shoulder injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game after diving into the end zone on a seven-yard touchdown run, which gave the Titans an early lead,” the Titans said in their postgame report.
