Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans has some heavy praise for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to take on the Houston Texans in the wild card round of the playoffs, and there seems to be nothing but respect between the two sides.

Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans recently praised Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin ahead of the matchup.
“You’ve had over 20 years of winning seasons. Not many people can do that. He’s done it. He’s stuck around at one place, probably the longest tenure head coach right now in the NFL for a reason, because he knows how to win,” Ryans said.
Ryans’ praise for Tomlin comes at an interesting time. Pittsburgh’s head coach was receiving a lot of criticism before the team’s 26-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18, with many calling for the 2025 season to be Tomlin’s last.
Of course, many of those beliefs went away following yet another classic Steelers win over the Ravens to send themselves to the playoffs and send their AFC North rivals home, wondering what could have been.

However, it proves once again how respected Tomlin is around the NFL, and rightfully so, after he recently notched his 19th consecutive non-losing season to begin a coaching career.

Tomlin also did such without star linebacker T.J. Watt for the past month and wide receiver DK Metcalf, who was serving a two-game suspension for his altercation with a Detroit Lions fan at Ford Field in Week 16.
It hasn’t always been pretty to watch the Steelers this season, but Tomlin, once again, put his team in contention for the postseason and it delivered.
The next task for Pittsburgh is to finally end its eight-year playoff win drought, but that will not be easy against the red hot Texans.
