SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner added to his Hall of Fame resume, becoming the third player in NFL history to record more than 2,000 tackles.

Wagner reached the milestone with five stops in a 24-17 season-ending win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wagner joins long-time linebacker London Fletcher (2,039) and HOF Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis (2,059) as the only players in the exclusive club.

“It’s a lot of hard work,” said Wagner postgame. “Consistency. It’s pushing through injuries that people know about, that people don’t know about. It’s pushing through good times, bad times. It’s staying committed to your work, staying committed to your craft. No matter what people say outside, you just keep going.”

The 35-year-old Wagner ends the season with 162 tackles, the fourth-best total of his storied career. He recorded a career-high 183 stopps in 2023.

Wagner needs 60 tackles to pass Lewis for the league’s all-time lead.
