Chris Shula and Mike LaFleur could be some of the top head coaching candidates in this year’s hiring cycle, but there’s another name to watch from the Los Angeles Rams’ staff: Nate Scheelhaase.

The Rams’ 35-year-old pass game coordinator had two offensive coordinator interviews last offseason and he could garner interest again this winter. After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard on Thursday, Scheelhaase’s name was immediately mentioned as a name to watch by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The others? Todd Monken and former Rams pass game coordinator Zac Robinson.

Scheelhaase interviewed for the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator position last year after Liam Coen left to become the Jaguars’ head coach. He also interviewed with Coen for the OC job in Jacksonville, too.

Now, Todd Bowles and the Bucs could circle back to Scheelhaase as a replacement for Grizzard, giving him his first offensive coordinator position in the pros.

Teams can’t interview Rams coaches until after the first round of the playoffs but after Saturday’s game, the requests are expected to flow in for Sean McVay’s assistants.
