Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Isiah Canion has committed to Georgia, On3 announced Thursday.

Canion entered the transfer portal just five days ago, following a sophomore season in which he accumulated 33 receptions and 480 yards, both the third-most on the Yellow Jackets. He also led the team in receiving touchdowns, with four.

The Warner Robins, Georgia, native was a four-star recruit out of high school, and briefly committed to Notre Dame before deciding to stay closer to home and ultimately signing with Georgia Tech, his only in-state offer according to 247Sports.Canion had a quiet freshman season, but broke out last year as one of quarterback Haynes King’s favorite targets.

Canion got even more involved with the Yellow Jackets towards the end of the season. In the second-to-last week of the regular season, Canion had his first multi-score game, catching four passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Pitt. Canion was then the leading receiver for Georgia Tech in 2025’s edition of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, catching four passes for 54 yards against his future team.

The wideout brings much-needed size and experience to Georgia’s receiver room. If Noah Thomas is not granted another year of eligibility, or chooses not to continue playing, with Zachariah Branch, Colbie Young and Dillon Bell all headed to the NFL Draft, Canion might immediately become Georgia’s top pass-catching option.

London Humphreys is likely the most involved returning receiver for the Bulldogs, and Canion nearly doubled his yard total with the Yellow Jackets this season. While head coach Kirby Smart still has more time to bring in additional talent at the wide receiver position, landing Canion is a huge step forward for retooling the team’s pass-catching options.
