The Giants are adding another ex-player and a former Joe Schoen colleague to their coaching candidates list.
Big Blue is interested in interviewing their former quarterback Davis Webb, who is currently the offensive pass game coordinator and QB coach for the Broncos, according to 9News. They’ve also requested an interview with Broncos special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi, who worked with Schoen while with the Dolphins from 2009-16, per ESPN.
Webb, 30, was a third-round pick by the Giants in 2017. He was cut before the 2018 season and joined the Jets, who cut him before the 2019 season. He then spent two seasons with the Bills, for whom he made one appearance, before rejoining the Giants in 2022. Webb drew his only career start in Week 18 that year.
After that season, Webb made his transition to coaching as Denver’s QB coach.
Webb is the second former Giant the franchise has targeted for its head coach vacancy; they’re set to interview Antonio Pierce in person on Friday.

Rizzi, a 55-year-old Bergen Catholic grad, just finished his first season with the Broncos after six years with the Saints, which included a run as their interim head coach in 2024. He has collegiate head coaching experience at New Haven and Rhode Island.
Webb and Rizzi join fellow Broncos coach Vance Joseph, their defensive coordinator, as Giants targets; Joseph was set for a virtual interview with the Giants on Thursday, with Denver on a bye in the playoffs.
The Giants interviewed Kevin Stefanski in person on Wednesday, they’ve scheduled an interview with former Super Bowl winner Mike McCarthy and are interested in a fellow Super Bowl winner, John Harbaugh.
They were also set to interview Raheem Morris in person on Thursday and requested an interview with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
