If Seahawks have to face Rams again, sooner may be better

NFL receiving leader Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a first-team All-Pro selection, while defensive lineman Leonard Williams, cornerback Devon Witherspoon, linebacker Ernest Jones IV and punter Michael Dickson were each second-team picks.

The five All-Pro selections matched a franchise high for Seattle, which went a franchise-best 14-3 to claim the NFC West title and the conference’s No. 1 seed. The Seahawks also had five All-Pro selections in 2015 and 1984.

Smith-Njigba, whose 1,793 receiving yards were the eighth-most in a single season in NFL history, was one of three unanimous first-team selections. The other two were Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

Smith-Njigba is the first Seahawks player to earn first-team All-Pro honors since linebacker Bobby Wagner in 2020. Smith-Njigba also is just the second player in franchise history to earn a first-team nod as a wide receiver, joining Steve Largent in 1985.

Williams, Witherspoon and Jones are each All-Pros for the first time after spearheading Seattle’s top-ranked scoring defense.

Williams, an 11-year NFL veteran, posted 7.0 sacks and nine tackles for loss while serving as a game-wrecking force in the trenches.

Witherspoon, who finished as Pro Football Focus‘ top-graded cornerback, totaled an interception, seven pass breakups, 0.5 sacks and two tackles for loss in 12 games.

As a linebacker, Jones finished second in the NFL with five interceptions – including an 85-yard pick-six against the Minnesota Vikings. He also recorded 126 tackles, 0.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and seven pass breakups in 15 games.

Dickson is an All-Pro for the second time in his career, with the other instance coming as a first-team selection during his 2018 rookie season. He averaged 49.0 yards per punt, which was tied for fifth in the league among punters with at least 40 punts. He downed 20 punts inside the 20-yard line, while logging just three touchbacks.
