New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough will be the grand marshal for the Krewe of Pygmalion when the parade rolls at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 7.
Recently named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month, Shough has garnered attention helming the squad and his appreciation for his new hometown.
“I’m just excited to, one, kind of master the offense, but then also take some time, be able to experience Mardi Gras and kind of be out in the community with everybody,” Shough said as he packed up his locker for the offseason. “I’m excited for crawfish season, for sure, and I’ve probably got to go on like a swamp tour or something.”
The swamp tour may have to wait.
Pygmalion rolls along the Uptown route on the first weekend of the New Orleans parading schedule.
A first for 2026, the krewe will process to the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for Pygmalion Fest, an extravaganza-type celebration that will include a special performance by celebrity DJ Marshmello and a variety of musical artists.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tyler Shough as our grand marshal and our Saints quarterback,” said captain Jack P. Rizzuto. “His passion for New Orleans, both on the field with the Saints and within our community, deserves to be celebrated.”
