Ticket prices for the College Football Playoff National Championship game have skyrocketed after No. 1 Indiana booked their ticket to the sport’s showpiece.

The Hoosiers will take on No. 10 Miami (FL) in the game which is being hosted at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida – making this essentially a home game for the Hurricanes.

However, Indiana fans have traveled incredibly well this season – including for the Peach Bowl on Friday night when they overwhelmingly outnumbered Oregon fans in Atlanta.

Naturally, with the Hurricanes hoping to win their first title since 2001 and Indiana looking for their first ever football title, ticket prices were going to be high.

But the second-hand market has seen prices jump to astronomical and ridiculous prices.

In a Saturday morning review of the top ticket resale sites in the US, get-in-the-door prices for the national championship game were as high as $3,600.

Other listings among the more exclusive seating arrangements reached the astronomical range of over $52,000.

Fans on social media were up in arms over the out-of-reach cost to attend the game.

‘This is absurd,’ posted one user on X.

Another remarked, ‘this is insane wtf this is terrible not just for college sports but all sports here in america look at the world cup final ticket prices…that s**t is wild’.

‘Absolutely ridiculous!!! Greed!!’ another moaned.

One fan noted that these high prices could reduce the impact of Indiana’s alumni: ‘and this is why yes, indiana will travel very well, but I’m not convinced it will be a massive red wash at Hard Rock because we aren’t factoring in the very large sect of wealthy, front-running Canes fans who now have the perfect be-seen status opportunity to splurge on.’

While these prices are exorbitant, it’s worth noting that these listings all came before the ticket allocations were sent out to schools.

Both Indiana and Miami will be allotted 20,000 tickets for both of their fan bases.

The remaining tickets will be posted to the open market for the general public.

Miami earned the spot in the title game after dismantling Ole Miss. Meanwhile, Indiana demolished Oregon to get this far.

Betting markets have pegged Indiana as overwhelming favorites to win the championship game, despite essentially playing a road game.

The Hoosiers are favored by -7.5 for the title matchup to be held in nine days time.
