At halftime of their Wild Card Weekend matchup, the Buffalo Bills lead the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 10-7.
Josh Allen went 14 of 17 for 129 yards in the first half, and also scored the Bills touchdown on a 2-yard run that followed a gorgeous 36-yard pass to Keon Coleman up the right sideline. Allen entered the medical tent twice in the first half, once to be checked by the independent neurologist and once for some sort of leg injury, but he returned to the field both times and led his team to a halftime lead.
Trevor Lawrence, meanwhile, went 9 of 15 for 88 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He was picked off by Shaq Thompson early in the game, which set up a Buffalo field goal drive. On the Jags’ ensuing possession, Bhaysul Tuten got them down to the goal line with three consecutive long runs before Lawrence found Brian Thomas Jr. in the front of the end zone for a score to give Jacksonville a lead.
Ray Davis fumbled the kickoff following Thomas’ touchdown and the Jaguars had a chance to make it a two-score game, but Lawrence’s fourth-and-2 rushing attempt that was initially ruled a first down was overturned and ruled short. Allen engineered the Bills’ touchdown drive from there, marching 92 yards on 10 plays before punching it into the end zone.
The Jags had a chance to tie the game at the very end of the half after a crazy throw and catch from Lawrence to Parker Washington. Lawrence spiked the ball with one second remaining in the half and the Bills were offside on the play so it set up a 54-yard kick for Cam Little, but Little hooked the kick wide to the left, preserving the halftime advantage for Buffalo.Â
