UPDATE: Notre Dame has issued a statement on the allegations against head coach Marcus Freeman.
A police report was filed with the Mishawaka Police Department, naming Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman in an alleged incident. Freeman has been accused of battery by a high school wrestling coach.
According to the South Bend Tribune, New Prairie High School wrestling assistant coach Chris Fleeger accused the college football coach, who was at the Al Smith Wrestling Invitational at Mishawaka High School, of battery after a verbal argument turned physical.

The report states:
The altercation allegedly took place after Vinny Freeman’s match against Hanover Central senior Israel Sinnott, which Vinny lost. As Vinny was escorted off the mat and out of the gym by Marcus and Penn head coach Brad Harper, Fleeger allegedly began exchanging words with the group.
As Marcus Freeman walked through the doorway into the hallway, physical contact allegedly occurred between Marcus Freeman and Fleeger, but police did not disclose the extent of the alleged contact. Once in the hallway, Fleeger and Marcus Freeman’s wife, Joanna, engaged in a shouting match before local law enforcement and Mishawaka school officials separated the two groups.Â

The Freeman family left without any further incident.
Notre Dame wrapped up a 10-2 season in Freeman’s fourth season, ranking No. 9 in the final AP Top 25. Unfortunately, the Fighting Irish missed out on the College Football Playoff and declined to participate in any other bowl game.
