MANCHESTER, N.H. —

New England Patriots fans are celebrating the team’s first playoff win since 2019.

The Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers 16-3 in Sunday night’s wild card game.

Some fans in New Hampshire said they were nervous during the game, with the Patriots not scoring a touchdown until the fourth quarter.

“I was a little bit afraid, but, you know, it turned out to be great,” said Patriots fan Andrea Moutsioulis.

Patriots fan Mathiew Prive said he was never worried.

“Honestly, the only thing going through my mind was I knew the Pats are going to win,” he said. “I had no doubt in my mind. I don’t have confidence in Justin Herbert, and Stefon Diggs has had a phenomenal season.”

Fan Carl Iotin said he was happy with the way the defense played.

“I think we had, like, five or six sacks,” he said. “A really strong defensive presence there. (Rhamondre) Stevenson had a hell of a game. So, as long as we keep that going into next week, I feel really good about our chances there. We actually looked like the old Pats for a little bit. I like that.”

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye attributed the victory to the defensive line.
