It seems that Montravius Adams can’t get enough of the AFC North — as insider Adam Schefter reported that the ex-Steelers DT visited with the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday.

Adams, who was selected 93rd overall in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Packers, played out the first four years of his rookie deal in Green Bay — until signing with the Patriots via free agency in 2021. He would be released before the start of the regular season and would sign with the Saints practice squad shortly after.

Just a few months later, the Steelers would sign Adams off the Saints practice squad — where he would then play in 46 games — 21 of these coming as starts — accumulating 72 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, four QB hits, and one sack. Adams’ four years in the Steel City came to an end when he was released in April of this year.

His visit in Cincinnati is no coincidence, as the Bengals had one of the worst defenses in the league last season — and are likely strapped for cap space to make any big changes. If Adams signs with the Bengals, Cincinnati will have acquired a cheap, veteran presence on the interior defensive line — a strong move in addressing what is an abysmal unit.

Pittsburgh would love a potential reunion with Adams in an AFC North showdown — with the first opportunity arriving in Week 7’s Thursday Night Football matchup where the Steelers visit Cincinnati.
