The family of Sam Beal is seeking help in finding the former New York Giants defensive back, who has been reported missing since July.

Beal’s sister Essence Zhane took to Facebook on Monday morning to ask for public help in locating Beal. Zhane posted photos from the missing persons report detailing the last known details about Beal’s whereabouts.

“Tomorrow makes it 7 months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” Zhane wrote on the Facebook post. “We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends.

“I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure. I’m a Big sister and I need my brother to know that We Love You and miss you and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around.”

According to the report filed on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System website, Beal was last seen by his girlfriend on July 12 after dropping her off at a family member’s house. Beal was said to have borrowed her vehicle to head to work, but instead went to Virginia Beach, Va.

Beal’s message to his girlfriend about heading home from Virginia Beach was the last known contact with the 29-year-old. Beal did not bring any belongings aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet, which contained his banking cards and driver’s license.

The girlfriend’s vehicle was found abandoned in Virginia Beach. Beal’s shoes and socks were left behind in the front passenger seat, which had sand on the floor.

The Giants selected Beal in the 2018 supplemental draft. He played in six games during his rookie season in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beal played in three games in 2021 before he was released by the team late in the season.
