Another SMU Mustang is headed to the NFL.

After transferring from Purdue to SMU for his final season of collegiate eligibility, defensive lineman Jeffrey M’ba declared for the NFL draft on Monday night. The 6-foot-6, 312-pounder, who was originally born in Africa and grew up in France, also suited up for Independence Community College, Auburn and Purdue during his time in college.

“Here at SMU, I experienced what it truly means to be part of a family,” he wrote in a social media post. “Since the first day, from the coaching staff to former players, everyone believed in me and made me feel like I was a part of their community, and it made me hungrier. It pushed me to give everything I had and to chase the best version of myself.

“To the SMU family, wearing this jersey has been an absolute honor. I will give everything I have to carry this pride forward and represent SMU with the same passion wherever my path takes me next.”
