Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is set to interview with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday for the Lions‘ vacant offensive coordinator position.
McDaniel also interviewed for the Atlanta Falcons‘ head coaching job on Monday and will reportedly interview for the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens‘ head coaching jobs this week, too.

Viewed as one of the top offensive minds in the NFL, McDaniel’s employment is in high demand. The 42-year-old orchestrated the NFL’s top total offense and No. 2 scoring offense in the 2023 season with the Dolphins.
In 2025, Miami running back De’Von Achane was one of the league’s top five rushers, totaling 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns on 238 carries.
As McDaniel continues the interview process, many Lions fans are hopeful and determined to see McDaniel as Detroit’s new offensive coordinator in 2026.
