NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough has been named one of six finalists for the 2025 NFL Rookie of the Year award, the league announced Tuesday.
The award is determined by a fan vote at nfl.com/rookies. Voting is open through Friday, Jan. 30, and the winner will be announced during Super Bowl Week.
Shough finished with the highest completion percentage among all rookies at 67.6 percent, completing 221 of 337 passes. Shough also ranked second among rookies in passing yards with 2,384 and passer rating at 91.3.

In Week 17, Shough delivered one of the most efficient performances by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.
He completed 81.5 percent of his passes for more than 300 yards and posted a passer rating of 142.7, becoming just the second rookie ever to meet all three benchmarks in a single game. He joined Denver quarterback Bo Nix, who accomplished the feat twice during the 2024 season.
Joining Shough as finalists are New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger.
