After a disappointing 2025 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles enter the offseason with plenty of questions that need to be answered in order to recalibrate with the hopes of making another Super Bowl run.

Aside from hiring a new offensive coordinator, the Eagles have difficult decisions to make about their roster over the coming months. There are 18 players who are set to become free agents, and some whose positions are important to Philadelphia’s success next season.

The Eagles biggest roster needs this offseason is a list that includes depth concerns at the Offensive Line, Safety, Tight End, and Pass Rusher.

The Top Five Most Important Eagles Free Agents In 2026

5. Braden Mann, Punter, Age: 28 years old
In two of the last three seasons, Braden Mann was top ten in the NFL in Yards per Punt, and this past season he had the third-most punt yards in the NFL. Having a reliable Punter who can both hold the ball for the Field Goal Kicker, along with averaging at least one punt landing inside the 20 yard line per game, is almost invaluable.

4. Reed Blankenship, Safety, Age: 26 years old
Once an Undrafted Free Agent who was seen as a Special Teams Contributor, Reed Blankenship has started 46 games at Safety over the last three seasons for Philadelphia’s defense. He is one of the leaders for the Eagles secondary and has finished in the top three in Solo Tackles in each of the last three years. Blankenship has been a reliable player for Philadelphia’s defense and is an underrated member of a championship-caliber defense.

The question if he reaches the free agent market, will a team offer Reed Blankenship a massive contract because that organization is desperate for a starting Safety, that it will be out of the Eagles price range?

3. Nakobe Dean, Linebacker, Age: 25 years old
The Georgia Bulldogs National Championship Team Captain has dealt with injuries, startin double-digit games once in the last three seasons with Philadelphia. But Nakobe Dean when on the field, he is the catalyst for a championship-caliber defense, and averages Seven Tackles per game played.

But the Eagles selected fellow Linebacker Jihaad Campbell in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, so unless Philadelphia plans to use both on the field together, Dean may lose his starting spot.

2. Dallas Goedert, Tight End, Age: 31 years old
Selected in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Dallas Goedert had sustained injuries that forced him to miss multiple games each year from 2021-2024. But 2025 was statistically the best year of his career, grabbing the second most Receiving Touchdowns in the NFL (11). He is also an underrated run blocker, and has been a valuable part of the Eagles offense over the last five years.

But Goedert’s injury history was a major reason why the Eagles were reluctant to give him a long-term contract. Philadelphia could let him walk this offseason and let him cash-in with another NFL team after a big statistical season, but Philadelphia cannot rely on Grant Calcaterra, EJ Jenkins, and Kylen Granson to fill that void. Unless Philadelphia can land another free agent Tight End, Kyle Pitts, it will be difficult to see how they replace Goedert.

1. Jaelan Phillips, EDGE Rusher, Age: 26 years old
Acquired before the NFL Trade Deadline in November, Jaelan Phillips made an immediate impact of the Eagles Pass Defense. In just eight games played, he finished the season with the 5th-most Quarterback Hits (7), and tied for the most QB Hurries (9). While young edge rushers like Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt have shown great potential, Phillips is the first reliable pass rusher on the roster since Haason Reddick in 2022.

The issue with re-signing Jaelan Phillips is that he is considered one of the top pass rushers entering free agency in 2026. Despite numerous injuries in his five NFL season, Phillips’ elite athleticism and skill set perfect fit for Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio scheme, making him a top priority for the upcoming NFL season.
