By all accounts, 2025 was a disappointing season for the Tennessee Titans, as the current search for a new head coach would indicate. However, the season wasn’t a complete disaster, and one of the positives was the production of quarterback Cam Ward and the rookie class, which is creating a buzz during the hunt for their next head coach.

While the class itself wasn’t star-studded and their production didn’t set the NFL ablaze, top to bottom, it was a solid class that flashed potential throughout the season. So how does the class compare to the rest of the NFL in 2025? Aaron Schatz of ESPN believes it was a solid class, falling just outside the top 10.

11. Tennessee Titans

No. 1 pick Cam Ward was not good from a statistical perspective, with a 33.1 QBR. Ward had a league-high 55 sacks and completed less than 60% of his passes. These stats are a part of why the Titans are down here at No. 11 despite starting a rookie quarterback all season. However, most film watchers strongly believe that Ward played well despite those stats and was victimized by a poor supporting cast.

The statistics for Ward as a whole do not tell the story, and using them as the basis for the overall ranking is a bit short-sided. Ward was outstanding down the stretch and was a reason the Titans played their best football in December.

Like Ward, the rest of the class contributed within the confines of what was available on the depth chart and gained valuable experience, and all of them could have been more successful earlier in the season with better coaching or performances by some established veterans.

Yes, there are still questions in the group, but Mike Borgonzi’s first class was a solid start toward rebuilding the organization’s culture.
