On Wednesday morning, another new name came up for the Cardinals in their wide-ranging search for a head coach.
Multiple reports had the Cardinals requesting an interview with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who had a stint as the Falcons head coach.
Smith was the Falcons head coach from 2021-23. He had been the Steelers OC the last two seasons. Despite Mike Tomlin stepping down from that head coaching job this week, Steelers owner Art Rooney II said no one on the current staff would be considered for Tomlin’s vacancy.
The Cardinals spoke to John Harbaugh, but reporting right now said the only teams he plans on interviewing with at the moment are the Giants, Falcons and Titans.
The full reported list so far of possible candidates (note the Cardinals have not officially announced/confirmed any names in the search, and some names were reported as the Cardinals asking for an interview, not necessarily that they were getting one.)
