(Gray News) – Former New York Giants cornerback Samuel Beal has been missing for more than six months.
Beal was last reportedly seen in July 2025 after borrowing his girlfriend’s car and was expected to go to work, NBC Sports said.
Officials said his girlfriend last spoke with him on the phone on July 13. He told her he was in Virginia Beach and planned to return home, but he never did.
The car was later recovered in Virginia Beach with Beal’s shoes and socks inside and sand on the floor.

Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, made a plea for help on Facebook.
She said, “We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends… I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure. I’m a big sister and I need my brother to know that we love you and miss you and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around.”
Beal was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft and played with the team until his release in 2021.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Virginia Beach police or Kentwood police.
