The Green Bay Packers‘ rule change proposal that would have banned the “Tush Push” play failed by a 22-10 vote at the league meetings in Minneapolis on Wednesday. The change required 24 votes, so the proposal fell two votes short.

The Packers, who have no owner and a team president who is retiring this summer, submitted the rule change, but 21 other teams wanted the change — highlighting the fact that two thirds of the league were in favor of banning the Tush Push.

The debate is over for now; the play lives on in 2025.

The Packers host the Eagles on “Monday Night Football” in Week 10.
