Ahead of next week’s in-person meetings, the Pittsburgh Steelers have concluded their first round of virtual interviews for their vacant head coach position.

Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten reported that seven virtual interviews were completed with the following potential head coaching candidates:

Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro EveroGreen Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff HafleySan Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Klay KubiakLos Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse MinterLos Angeles Rams pass game coordinator Nate ScheelhaaseLos Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem MorrisMiami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver

Of the seven candidates, the Steelers lost out on Hafley, as he was hired by the Dolphins on Monday to become their 12th full-time head coach in franchise history.

Additionally, Pittsburgh’s first two in-person interviews will reportedly be Weaver and Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, as well as reportedly meeting with former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy next week to discuss the vacancy.
