No surprise here, but Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson was named a potential trade candidate this offseason by Pro Football Focus.
PFF’s Bradley Locker listed 15 possible trade candidates for the upcoming offseason, and among them was Richardson.
“It also wouldn’t be surprising to teams take a swing on the 23-year-old, especially given his raw talent and the recent wave of first-round reclamation projects under center,” Locker wrote.
Daniel Jones is set to be a free agent, but Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen have made it known that they want Jones back. Jones has also expressed his desire to return to Indianapolis.
If that is how things play out, it remains difficult to see a path for Richardson to regain the starting role in Indianapolis.

In addition to that, Riley Leonard showcased that he could be a capable backup option if called upon, which could provide the Colts with more flexibility to move on from Richardson and get some draft capital in return.
Richardson is set to enter the final year of his rookie deal in 2026. Later this offseason, the Colts have to decide whether to pick up or decline his fifth-year option for the 2027 season.
