The buzz that Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown could be traded this offseason has picked up more steam.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Brown’s “happy-to-be-here quotient in Philly is miserably low,” and some league executives believe he wants out.

One NFL exec told Fowler he could see the Eagles trading Brown to the Buffalo Bills.

“The Bills have to upgrade there — their best receiver is Khalil Shakir, who is a nice player but he’s not a top guy,” an NFL personnel evaluator said. “Brown is an immediate upgrade and he’s still young [turning 29 in June]. And the Eagles can build the passing game around DeVonta Smith and a high draft pick.”

In conversations with NFL scouts, Fowler was told the Titans, Browns, 49ers and Raiders are teams to watch in the Brown sweepstakes.

If Brown is cut or traded with a post-June 1 designation, his dead cap hit will be hefty — $45 million if cut, $16 million if traded, according to Over The Cap. Fowler mentioned the Eagles could actually save $7 million on the cap by trading Brown after June 1.

Unhappy with his role in the offense and the production of the passing game this year, Brown has been in trade rumors for months, with multiple reports saying NFL teams expect him to become available this offseason.

Brown finished the season with 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns — disappointing numbers for the three-time All-Pro. He could bounce back with another team next season.
