Indiana University scored a 27-21 victory over the University of Miami in the College Football Playoff national championship game on Monday, Jan. 19. The game marked former University of Georgia quarterback Carson Beck’s first national title appearance as Miami’s quarterback. Indiana sealed the game with a late fourth-quarter interception on Beck, leading to Indiana’s first national title.
The Red & Black asked UGA students how they felt about Indiana’s win.

“I have a sister that goes to UMiami, so I have some tension there, but, ultimately, I was happy that Carson Beck lost,” Masterson said.

“I have never been happier seeing an interception in my entire life,” Ekokobe said. “I stood up and shouted like I was somebody’s grandma in church.”

“I’m glad it was a good game, but I’m happy Indiana won. They deserved it,” Hildreth said.
