Tight ends under contract2025 season review

This was a position group for the Colts where passing game production had lacked for several seasons. However, the addition of Tyler Warren changed that.

Warren finished the season catching 76 passes for 817 yards with four touchdowns. He ranked fifth among all tight ends in receiving yards.

Beyond his passing game production, Warren’s ability to help in the run game and his versatility adds a level of unpredictability to the offense because he is able to wear so many different hats.

This provides Shane Steichen with greater flexibility as he puts together game plans and can open up opportunities not only for Warren but for his teammates.

Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree shouldered the TE2 role, with both bringing an added blocking presence to the offense. In Shane Steichen’s offense, a heavy dose of two tight end sets are utilized.

What is the level of need at tight end for the Colts this offseason?

With Warren leading the way, the Colts are positioned well here. However, as you can see by the current roster, depth is needed. Specifically, another blocking presence is needed to pair with Warren.

Mallory provides more of a pass-catching presence and has struggled to see the field. The Colts could look to bring back Alie-Cox and/or Ogletree to fill that role. Neither will break the salary cap bank.
