Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is getting disrespected in a controversial ranking before the Bills-Broncos playoff game.

The Buffalo Bills are heading into a big offseason, and they will first need to hire a new head coach.

Buffalo fired head coach Sean McDermott on Monday, and now the Bills will be having a head coaching search for the first time since 2017.

The Bills may hire an offensive-minded head coach to introduce yet another new scheme for quarterback Josh Allen. However, whoever takes the helm will need to focus on bringing in additional receiver help to bolster the team’s offense.

Bills Predicted To Draft Chris Brazzell II at No. 26

Buffalo hasn’t had a valid No. 1 wide receiver since Stefon Diggs joined the team from 2020 to 2023. Bringing in a young talent with the potential to become a star might be the best way forward.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. published a mock draft on Wednesday, predicting that the Bills will select Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II with the 26th pick.

“As Buffalo looks for a new coach, it also might start evaluating its wide receiver room,” Kiper wrote. “The Bills haven’t had a true WR1 nor any pass catcher clear 850 yards since Stefon Diggs was traded in 2024. And when the injuries started to pile up at the position in the playoffs, things only got worse.

“Picking in this range makes it difficult to find impact wideouts, and Brazzell would be the sixth off the board (marking the 10th time this century that six or more wide receivers have gone in Round 1). But he also has the skill set to be a standout in the pros. His 6-foot-5 frame, long arms, sure hands and great concentration make him a big-time target in the end zone and on contested balls. I also see the explosiveness to get out of his breaks and separate. Brazzell tallied 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns this past season.”

The Bills should consider adding a tall, big-framed wide receiver, as someone who stands 6-foot-5 would be an exceptional red zone target for Allen. Although Allen can rely on his legs to score, he will be turning 30 this year, which could lead to a gradual slowdown. This means he might take fewer hits and spend more time in the pocket, focusing on getting the ball out efficiently.

Buffalo Could Trade For a Veteran Wide Receiver Instead

Brazzell could be an intriguing choice for the Bills. However, if Buffalo wants to bring in some seasoned talent, trading the 26th pick might be a viable option.

It’s no secret that the Bills are close to making a Super Bowl run, and bringing in young talent might not be the best strategy for them right now. If they can acquire a top veteran wide receiver through the trade market, they may want to consider that option instead of investing in a high draft pick for a receiver.

The Bills could still draft a wide receiver later in the draft and pair them up with a top veteran receiver, which could be beneficial for the young player.
