The offseason came earlier than expected for the Philadelphia Eagles, unless, of course, you’re like most and saw the first-round exit coming. Truth be told, that didn’t make this pill any easier to swallow.
Just like that, we’re closing in on the end of the offseason’s second week. There will be no days off. This is Howie Roseman and company that we’re discussing.
Ambry Thomas recently signed a futures deal. This time around, they have added a tight end. Jaheim Bell joins the Eagles as the 15th player they have signed to a futures deal and the second tight end signing.
NFL teams are allowed to sign as many players to future deals as they wish, as long as they remain under the 90-man roster allotment. In Bell, they find a six-foot-two, 241-pounder who was teammates with Eagles wide receiver Johnny Wilson when both played for the Florida State Seminoles in 2023.
Goedert, Calcaterra, and Granson are impending free agents. The knowledge of that alone is proof that changes are coming for Philadelphia at the tight end position.

Bell’s arrival may not make headlines, but it fits the larger theme of what might be coming. The Eagles are quietly beginning roster turnover, and their tight end position should look much different by the time summer arrives.
