Not long after news broke that Robert Saleh would be interviewing Al Harris for the vacant Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator position, another potential candidate surfaced.Â
ESPN Insider Jeremy Fowler reported on social media that the Titans had submitted an interview request to the Dallas Cowboys to speak with defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton about the opening.Â
While Saleh will be the primary defensive mastermind in Nashville, he will need a staff he can rely on to implement his vision, and Whitecotton could be part of that staff.Â
Whitecotton and Saleh have a long history together, coaching together from 2014-2016 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then together with the New York Jets during Saleh’s tenure as head coach. While he has yet to be a defensive coordinator in the NFL, he brings over 10 years of experience on the defensive side of the ball, and also interviewed with the Cowboys for their opening earlier in the offseason.Â
No specifics on an interview were released, but with the college All-Star games ramping up, Saleh would likely want to get some of his staff in place.Â
